It should be considered that this series of air cooling motor should be operated safely in many years and the maintenance times should be as fewer as possible upon the design of motors. But it can't be imagined to make the motors work trouble-free under the condition of delayed maintenance or ignored maintenance.
When the motor is overheat (measure temperature with thermal resistance or thermocouple, don't use hands), reasons may be: 1) overload; 2) single-phase operation; 3) dust on motor or vent pipe; 4) voltage imbalance; 5) friction between rotor and stator. At this time, users should: 1) measure the load and compare with rated values on nameplates to check the motor or entire drive device if there is excessive friction, lower the load or change a motor with large capacity; 2) check current of each phase; 3) check and purge motor and vent pipe even if filter is installed, clean winding with solvent, if necessary, clean the pipeline of tubular shell of motor with cleaning rod; 4) check voltage of each phase; 5) clean air clearance and check concentricity or replace bearing if necessary.
