The coal mine environment is humid, the relative humidity can reach 98%, there is water, equipment lubrication and cooling grease may invade the motor, making the winding scale and moisture, so the motor is required to have a good seal. Minimum requirements of protection level: the connection cavity is IP54, the motor body is IP44, and the higher requirements are IP55.
The motor needs to move with the mining equipment and withstand vibration due to the vibration of the mining machinery during operation. Under the action of roof pressure, the motor may be exposed to the danger of coal and rock falling, smashing and hitting. Therefore, the motor housing and exposed parts should be able to withstand the specified impact force.
Most of the mining machinery is non-finite load, with large and unstable resistance moment, and the motor has complex conditions such as frequent starting, spoting, blocked rotation and overload. The motor is generally full voltage starting, and its main characteristic parameters are shown in the table on the right. The working system of the mining motor is usually stipulated as S1(continuous working system), but it is often necessary to adapt to the requirements of frequent starting, overload, no-load, hourly starting times, continuous point times, etc. The working system can also be set as S1 or S4(including the intermittent cycle working system of starting)S1 or S6(continuous cycle working system). The loading machine motor is mostly short-time operation S2. In order to make the motor have a larger overload capacity, the general motor design has a larger temperature rise margin, and the insulation level is degraded to improve the reliability of the motor. In order to solve the problem of heat dissipation, the electric motor of mining machinery adopts shell water cooling. In order to effectively protect the winding from overheating, the mining motor is buried in the winding end of the thermal protection element, and water pressure relay, anti-bearing overheating and other protective devices.
